Puppy Preschool

So many dogs and cats are euthanased, even if physically healthy, due to unacceptable or "bad" behaviour – this can be due to lack of socialisation, lack of bonding and/or lack of training.

Sometimes human owners don't understand what is "natural behaviour" and how to modify natural instincts (with training) to allow pets to be acceptable family members at home.

Studies have shown that the critical period for good social development and the right time to start training puppies is at 8-12 weeks of age.  Kittens also should have exposure to certain situations (eg the pet carrier, strange people and travelling  in the car) from an early age.

What better way of ensuring your puppy will stay with you and be a great family member than by attending our clinics for “Puppy Pre-School” classes!  You get to meet and greet other puppies  and their owners, learn about dog behaviour, get lots of freebies and have great social interactions.  You will also gets tips on healthcare, nutrition, phobias and veterinary information such as worming, desexing, common diseases and health risks, vaccinations etc.

Puppy classes are conducted at  our Kadina Clinic on a regular basis. The final class is “GRADUATION” – puppies all receive a graduation package with graduation certificate and photo. Graduation photos are published in our local newspaper (YP Country Times).

Classes typically run for approx 1 hour over three weeks.  Come and play “Pass the Puppy” with us – a valuable and fun experience for you with your new pup.
